The Home Builders Association of Northwest Indiana combines real estate and family fun at the 2026 Fall Parade of Homes

Whether you are planning a move or just looking for inspiration, the Fall Parade of Homes gives visitors the opportunity to experience firsthand the latest in home design. On Friday, September 18, the Home Builders Association of Northwest Indiana (HBANWI) hosted its opening day for the 2026 Fall Parade of Homes. From September 18-27, the HBANWI will be showcasing seven high-end custom homes, open for public viewing.

This year, the homes were located on a single site in Stonebridge in Valparaiso, allowing visitors to tour all seven homes conveniently.

Participating builders included Davis Homes, Crusader Homes, Summit Homebuilders, Bruce Built Construction Inc., and more. Not only could visitors take tours, but they also had the opportunity to connect directly with the builders, designers, and partners behind the homes, making it easy and convenient to ask questions or simply get to know more about the homes. Visitors were able to tour all levels of the different homes, and even get some free snacks and goody bags from the participating companies.

Division Manager of Davis Homes, Davin Steuer, explained that Davis Homes is completely customizable and is flexible with the building process, even being able to build on a customer’s lot. Whether you’re looking for a starter home or a more luxurious home, they are there to be with you every step of the way. Davis Homes thought the Parade of Homes was the perfect opportunity to showcase what they offer.

“We thought it was a great opportunity to network and do something locally,” Steuer said. “Davis has been building for more than 25 years, but we’re relatively new to Northwest Indiana. We thought it was a great opportunity to showcase the type of product that we have and let people know that we’re here and see what kind of home we can build.”

Beyond the houses, HBANWI ensured visitors had a fun and welcoming experience. Fridays through Sundays, visitors are able to enjoy food trucks, a beer garden, and live entertainment in the evening as part of the Family Festival Days. On September 18, Luke Schepel, a junior at Kankakee Valley High School, performed and played the saxophone for visitors during the Parade.

Schepel started playing the saxophone when he was in sixth grade and knew he wanted to perform live ever since. At the Parade, he performed mainly jazz music, with some covers of well-known hits, such as ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ by Stevie Wonder. Schepel hopes to continue playing gigs and hopefully teach lessons as well in the future.

“It’s an opportunity to share my music and my love of music with the world,” Schepel said.

The Parade of Homes is open Monday through Thursday from noon to 8 p.m., and Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Proceeds from the Parade of Homes will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Porter County and Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Indiana, while also helping provide relief to Porter County residents who were impacted by the August storms across the Region.
