Crossroads Chamber Opens Nominations for 6th Annual Business Excellence Awards

The businesses and leaders shaping Northwest Indiana’s future don’t always seek the spotlight — but this spring, Crossroads Chamber is making sure they get it.

Crossroads Chamber has officially opened nominations for its 6th Annual Business Excellence Awards Ceremony, set to take place March 12, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Dean and Barbara White Center. The annual event honors the businesses, nonprofits, volunteers, and individuals whose leadership and service strengthen the Region’s economy and communities.

Community members are encouraged to save the date and submit nominations now through the Crossroads Chamber website.

“This ceremony is about celebrating the people who make Northwest Indiana thrive,” said Deann Patena, president and CEO of Crossroads Chamber. “From innovative entrepreneurs to dedicated volunteers, these honorees represent the very best of our Region. By opening nominatins, we empower our community to celebrate the leaders they feel act with purpose and make a meaningful difference every day.”

The Business Excellence Awards recognize outstanding achievements across nine award categories, highlighting organizations and individuals who inspire growth, leadership, and positive change while enhancing quality of life throughout Northwest Indiana.

Awards will be presented in the following categories:

• Business Leader
• Business Success
• Corporate Responsibility
• Community Volunteer of the Year
• Legacy
• Minority Business
• Non-Profit
• Rising Star
• Young Entrepreneur

According to Shawn Pettit, Crossroads Chamber board member and chairman of the Business Excellence Awards Committee, public nominations are essential to the success of the program.

“These awards are driven by the community,” Pettit said. “Every nomination tells a story of dedication, resilience, and leadership. If you know a business or individual who deserves recognition, this is the moment to share their story.”

Past recipients say the awards provide meaningful recognition that extends far beyond the event itself. Brown Family Ranch, last year’s Minority Business Award recipient, reflected on the experience.

“Winning the Minority Business Award was more than an honor for Brown Family Ranch LLC—it was a powerful reminder that hard work, community support, and staying true to your mission truly matter,” the business shared. “This award shines a light on local businesses that are making a real impact, and we encourage others to step forward, share their stories, and be part of something that strengthens our entire community.”

Nominations for the 6th Annual Business Excellence Awards are now open and can be submitted through the Crossroads Chamber website. Winners will be announced at the March 12 ceremony.
