City of Hobart Launches New Online Economic Development Portal

The City of Hobart has launched CivicServe, a new online platform for Economic Development programs and applications, beginning with the City’s Workforce Education Grant.
CivicServe provides a dedicated online location for businesses and applicants to submit Economic Development applications, upload required materials, track application status and communicate with City staff during the review process.
“CivicServe gives our department a dedicated system for managing Economic Development programs from application through review,” Development Director Marcos Rodriquez said. “For applicants, it provides one place to submit materials, receive updates and communicate with our team throughout the process.”
The Workforce Education Grant is the first program available through the new platform. Additional Economic Development programs and resources will be added as implementation continues.
“This digital platform gives businesses a more direct way to work with our Economic Development team and stay informed throughout the application process,” Mayor Josh Huddlestun said. “Beginning with the Workforce Education Grant allows us to introduce the platform through a program focused on supporting Hobart’s workforce and business community.”
As the platform expands, CivicServe will support additional Economic Development functions, including tax abatements, economic development grants, Tax Increment Financing district information and contract management.
CivicServe is specific to the City’s Economic Development programs and does not replace other online systems, such as OpenGov or CivicPlus, currently used by the City of Hobart.
Businesses and applicants can access CivicServe through the Economic Development section of cityofhobart.org or directly at hobartin.civicserve.com.
