St. Mary Medical Center earns ‘A’ for Hospital Safety from Leapfrog Group

St. Mary Medical Center earned an A for the spring 2026 biannual Hospital Safety Grades from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog. Leapfrog assigns an A, B, C, D or F grade to hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections and their prevention procedures.

“Earning an ‘A’ reflects the dedication of our entire team to prioritize patient safety,” said Janice Ryba, CEO of St. Mary Medical Center. “This recognition reinforces our standing as a healthcare leader in clinical excellence and our unwavering commitment to providing high-quality care for our community.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program focused exclusively on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day nationally. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
