NITCO to host annual Customer Appreciation Day on June 11

Nothing kicks off the beginning of summer like a good old-fashioned block party. On Thursday, June 11, NITCO will host its annual Customer Appreciation Day in Hebron, offering an afternoon full of food, games and family-friendly fun while celebrating the customers and communities the company serves.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside NITCO’s corporate headquarters at 205 N. Washington St. in Hebron. The town will close off the street to make room for the festivities, transforming downtown into what organizers describe as a community block party.

Customer Appreciation Day has become one of the company’s biggest annual events, drawing over 600 people each year.

“It’s just become part of who NITCO is,” said Tom Carroll, senior vice president of sales and marketing at NITCO. “It’s a way for us to say thank you in person.”

Carroll believes the celebration is designed not only for existing customers, but also for anyone in the community looking for a fun way to kick off the summer.

“We put together a block party for the day,” Carroll said. “It’s face painting, video games, food, balloons, a photo booth, and a dunk tank. It’s basically, ‘Hey, come have lunch on NITCO.’”

The event will feature free hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy and ice cream, along with a gaming truck for the video games. There are plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained throughout the afternoon. Indiana 105 and radio personality Mike ‘The Mullet Man’ Summers will broadcast live from the event while music plays throughout the day.

This year’s celebration will also include several giveaways, including a wheeled cooler and a large slip-and-slide for children.

“It’s really like a mini fair,” said Ruthie Rossman, sales and marketing assistant at NITCO. “It’s nice to go be with your family, sit out on the lawn, eat your food, listen to the entertainment, and play some games. It’s a great community event to kick off the summer.”

Guests will also have the opportunity to receive a Customer Appreciation Day t-shirt while supplies last. Rossman noted that the event’s giveaways, activities and entertainment help create a welcoming atmosphere for families and community members alike.

While the activities and giveaways help draw a crowd, Carroll also values this event because it gives NITCO employees a chance to interact directly with customers.

“It’s an opportunity for us to talk to our customers, and more importantly, listen to our customers,” Carroll said. “We give them an opportunity to tell us what they think of their service or what they need, and we use that information moving forward.”

NITCO officials encourage community members — whether they are customers or not — to stop by, enjoy lunch and spend the afternoon celebrating the start of summer.

“Come one, come all! We invite our customers and community members to come out, enjoy the day and let us say thank you,” Carroll said.
