Pulaski County prepares to host Annual Car & Motorcycle Show, Art in the Park events on May 9

Pulaski County is gearing up for a full day of community celebration with activities like the Annual Car & Motorcycle Show in Winamac and the Art in the Park events. What started as a gathering for local residents has grown to become a beloved tradition for many people throughout the Region. Both of these events are set to take place on Saturday, May 9.

This year will mark the 19th year for the Annual Car & Motorcycle Show in Winamac. Since the conception of the event, it has continued to bring in car enthusiasts all throughout Pulaski County.

“Over the past 18 years, the car show has grown into a true community tradition by consistently bringing people together for a shared cause,” Tourism Advisory Council President Diana Day said. “It’s more than just an event; it’s something families, car enthusiasts, and local residents look forward to each year.”

Recently, the car show moved to downtown Winamac to a more visible and accessible space for the community while supporting local businesses.

“G & G Cruisin’ is the host of the car show, and we are proud to have 121 individuals and companies sponsoring this year’s event,” Revenue Cycle Manager at Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Ashley Gorby, said. “Many of these sponsors have even been here since our first event.”

The car show offers a little bit of something for everybody. Not only can people showcase their personal creativity and pride through their new and restored vehicles, but they will also be competing for awards and recognition.

“Beyond the cars, the downtown setting creates a welcoming atmosphere with easy access to local restaurants, food, and beverages, making it enjoyable for participants and spectators alike,” Day said. “Most importantly, participants are contributing to a great cause. They are supporting programs within the community, providing essential resources to children and families in need, supplying food to the local food pantry, and making other similar donations.”

Along with G & G Cruisin’, Pulaski County Tribe will be contributing to this big community celebration with Art in the Park at Winamac Town Park. This event is primarily funded through a grant provided by The Arts Federation and the Indiana Arts Commission.

“Vendors, live demonstrations, make-and-take crafts, and artist-led workshops will give guests multiple opportunities to express their creativity and appreciate the local artist talent we have in Pulaski County. Attendees can learn something new and support our local art culture,” Day said.

Similar to the car show, Art in the Park has activities to engage any age group. Demonstrations, food, unique finds in local shops from talented artists and makers – there will be plenty to keep the community active. In a scenic setting of the Winamac Town Park, along the Tippecanoe River, this is a one-of-a-kind event.

“It’s important for Pulaski County to host free events like Art in the Park to develop community building by offering an opportunity for engaged focus on art in Pulaski County,” Day said. “Art in the Park brings people together through creativity, culture, and connection to provide a new experience.”

By dedicating May 9 to the Annual Car & Motorcycle Show in Winamac, Art in the Park, and a day of community celebration, Pulaski County wants to make it a memorable day for families and friends alike throughout the Region.

“Having both these events on the same day is set to create an incredibly lively and vibrant weekend in Pulaski County. With activities happening both downtown and in the park, the combined events will draw more visitors into the area, boost foot traffic for local businesses, and create an energetic, festival-like atmosphere that truly showcases the spirit of the community,” Day said.
