Antonio Sanyet has been at Korellis for nearly 20 years. During this time, he has worked in four different capacities, including as an apprentice, journeyman, right hand man, and, most recently, general foreman.
“It’s the only shop I’ve ever worked for,” Sanyet said.
While in the apprentice role, Sanyet was able to set a great foundation for his career at Korellis, jumpstarting his skills and growth in the trade.
He is a member of Korellis’ Hammond team. Sanyet travels a lot for work. Depending on the project, his crew size changes regularly to meet the needs of his clients.
“The crew size fluctuates with about four guys plus me on the low end,” Sanyet said. “On the high end, I think we’ve had around 30 per shift.”
Across his roles, Sanyet has always specialized in roofing. While his current role as general foreman focuses mainly on commercial roofing and industrial roofing, Sanyet also supports roofing maintenance work and emergency projects.
When additional support is needed, Sanyet is willing to step in wherever he can. “It’s not often on the service side, but when there’s big emergencies and they need a lot of guys, I’ve been called out,” said Sanyet.
During his time at Korellis, Sanyet has picked up many tricks that help him prepare for each day. For example, he knows that Korellis’ busy season tends to be when the weather is warmer, so Sanyet stays extra cognizant of the forecast to plan accordingly. This helps him remain efficient each day.
“Typically, during the busy season, I get up in the morning, check the weather, and try to make a plan for the day before heading into work,” he said.
Currently, Korellis is in its slower season, which means Sanyet travels to multiple sites to support several crews throughout the day.
“This time of year, we’re a little bit slower, so we have the foremen working together, and doing multiple things,” Sanyet said.
Sanyet values Korellis, its team, and its corporate culture.
“Korellis supports its employees,” he said. “They cultivate leadership skills, encourage growth, and always create opportunities to thrive.”
This support drives Sanyet to work even harder and has cultivated his long-term loyalty to Korellis.
“When you have a company that cares for its employees the way Korellis does, you can’t help but work hard,” he said. “Their care and professionalism are some of the main reasons I have stayed so long.”
Sanyet’s favorite aspect of his work is the day-to-day problem solving that comes with the roofing industry.
“I enjoy tackling issues,” he said. “When my team comes across problems, I love making solutions to get the job done.”
While he was born in Chicago, Sanyet has deep roots in the area, having grown up around Lake and Porter counties. In his free time, Sanyet enjoys ice fishing and riding his motorcycle.
Sanyet is a dedicated, driven employee who is a delight to work with. There’s no doubt that his commitment to Korellis is making a positive impact across the company and the work its teams deliver!
