The Brooks at Vale Park, a housing development located in the heart of Valparaiso, broke ground on the neighborhood’s community clubhouse with an afternoon of exciting entertainment and connection on May 16. The clubhouse is expected to be one of the Brooks’ defining amenities.
“Our clubhouse is based on an Epcon Communities design,” Chris Knight, managing partner, said. “It’s going to have two golf simulators, a full workout room, a big two-story entertainment space with a double-sided fireplace, a full warming kitchen, a pool with a splash pad, and pickleball courts.”
Knight and the rest of the Brooks of Vale Park team wanted to do something special for the community as construction began on the clubhouse, so the groundbreaking ceremony included more than just moving dirt. Guests could enjoy free food and ice cream from local vendors, hop into the cab for tractor rides, connect with their neighbors in a casual setting, and receive items like golf balls and pickleball equipment, so they’re ready when the clubhouse opens.
“People like to have a place they can hang out that offers amenities they might not have in the city or at home,” Chuck Williams, Brooks of Vale Park developer, said. “This is going to be a really special place for the community.”
The Brooks at Vale Park is designed to provide active living opportunities for its residents. With over 50 acres of preserved green space, trails, and fish-stocked ponds, as well as pickleball courts, a pool, and the clubhouse on the way, residents have plenty of excuses to get out with their neighbors and have a good time.
The clubhouse, in particular, will serve as a gathering place for residents, fostering community among residents by making getting together easy and convenient.
“It’s one of the things that really appealed to us about Epcon as we’re building out the Courtyards at the Brooks,” Knight said. “They’ve really focused on bringing neighbors together who enjoy the community and being around each other. The clubhouse is going to mimic that. We’re going to be doing a lot of community events that get people together, get them to know their neighbors, and get them to just live life together.”
Construction for the clubhouse and its related amenities is set to begin within the next 30 days, with Williams and the team hoping to have the pool open in time for next summer. The project would not be possible without the support of the community and the Brooks of Vale Park’s partners.

“It’s a great neighborhood,” Williams said. “Everyone here is very friendly.”
