One of our favorite things to do at GreatNews.Life is to get together with partners, community members, or organizations to share good news in a way that is fresh and exciting. That often comes through as a video! Being able to film what’s happening around us and share that with the community has been a particularly special part of 2025.

We welcomed CEOs and local leaders to the table to chat with our Founder Chris Mahlmann, we celebrated achievements across healthcare organizations, we invited women and women supporters to our annual All About the Girls event, and we did it all with a video camera and a team that loves sharing positivity with our audience.

South Shore Line and Michigan City cut ribbon on 11th St Station

On the morning of Wednesday, June 18, the Northern Indiana Commuter Transport District (NICTD) – which is the owner and operator of the South Shore Line commuter rail system – and the City of Michigan City held a ribbon cutting for the South Shore Line’s Michigan City 11th Street Station and parking garage. This event celebrated the latest stage in the South Shore Lines Double Track Project, which features the addition of a second track along 25 miles of its roughly 90 mile total length. Indiana State Senators, community leaders, and business executives from across Northwest Indiana gathered for this historic grand opening.
