On Thursday, May 21, Tech Credit Union attended the Crossroads Business Expo at the Dean and Barbara White Community Center.
Dozens of vendors filled the Community Center’s gymnasium, networking with fellow businesses and introducing their organizations and merchandise to Region residents. The event continues to grow each year, with more than 50 attendees browsing vendor tables at any given time.
“I think my favorite part of this event — and really every event we attend — is meeting all the different vendors and learning about the services they offer,” said Tech Credit Union AVP and Manager of Membership Growth Michael Evanich. “Sometimes you come across someone who needs financial help. That’s where we come in. Being out here in the community allows us to connect with people who may have never heard of Tech Credit Union and introduce them to an institution that’s been a staple in our community since 1936.”
As a financial service provider in the Region, Tech Credit Union uses events like the Crossroads Business Expo to engage directly with the community. Two representatives staffed the Tech CU booth as attendees stopped by to learn more about the credit union. Many visitors were already members — relationships Tech Credit Union has proudly maintained for decades.
“The important thing for us — and I think this is very important — is that we are very union-centric,” Evanich said. “As you can see from our signage and what we’re advertising on the table, we focus on working blue-collar people. Events like this give us exposure and allow us to show the products and services we offer them.”
Tech Credit Union has attended the Crossroads Business Expo for several consecutive years. Evanich said the event remains valuable because it creates opportunities for vendors to connect with one another while also building relationships with local residents and businesses.
“I’ve been with the credit union for over three years, and ever since I’ve been here, I’ve attended this event,” Evanich said. “We’ve always been supportive of it.”
His colleague, Braedon Lewis, echoed that sentiment.
“If you don’t see it, you don’t know about it,” Lewis said. “When people come out here and get a chance to meet us, they hear our perspective about what we can do for them — and maybe what their current credit union isn’t doing.”
The Crossroads Business Expo created a welcoming and energetic atmosphere throughout the evening. Attendees and business owners visited booths, shared conversations, and built connections with one another.
For Tech Credit Union, the event perfectly reflects its community-driven mission. By engaging with Region residents, small businesses, and local organizations, the credit union continues to reinforce its commitment to serving the community in a positive and approachable way.
