BOYS FOOTBALL Lake Central VS Portage 2026

FINAL SCORE: 37-19 Lake Central.

The Portage Indian football team’s seniors were all honored before the game for their senior night. Tonight was also neon night as the fans, cheer, and dance squads were all decked out in spirit!

The Portage Dance, Steppers, and the Band all performed during halftime as well as the Marine Corps JROTC performing “Colors” prior to the National Anthem.

“We just wanted to get our assignments right and just run through so that our running backs could get touchdowns and good yardage…I felt that we accomplished things after the first quarter, and we just really locked in after that.” -Tyler Carlson (LC Offensive line) “I mean, our plan was just to go through things. They ran a pocket protection and we were just planning to make the quarterback throw bad passes, hopefully get some picks, and just stop things on fourth down.” (Jake Jones- LC Defensive Line) “Every game, we pray together with the running backs and then we just like to stay together and get hyped together…especially with the O-Line, we like to push each other up. We like to encourage each other too. If we get a pancake or get a QB sack or defensive pressure, then we hype each other up!” (Carlson and Jones)
