On Wednesday, February 25, more than 200 clients came together for the Oak Partners Economic Update. The event was hosted at Avalon Manor and included a dinner for everyone in attendance.
Director of Client Experience Crystal DeHaven, who planned the event, welcomed everyone in attendance with the historical purpose that has driven Oak Partners to make a difference in this community for several decades.
“Oak Partners has been servicing client since 1993, and we just celebrated our 33rd year,” DeHaven said. “We have 25 financial advisors across Valparaiso, Crown Point, and St. John. The three things that make Oak Partners so unique: service, education, and communication.”
Wealth Advisor and Partner Clint Henry illustrated how this update will touch on the trends in the market that can help members of the community prepare for it.
“The market is changing all the time, especially in the environment that we’re living in today,” Henry said. “Every time we have one of these events, the people here are able to hear about the latest trends and updates. We’re always long-term investing, but this update is going to focus a lot on what our plan is moving forward for this year.” “Whenever people come to these events, they get to see us and learn about what we’re thinking,” Henry said. “It’s a great way for us to communicate on a personal level with them. We usually do a kickoff and a halftime event, so two of them each year. We also have some additional educational events mixed in throughout the year.”
Team Leader and Partner Marc Ruiz is optimistic about the market moving forward based on the performance in the market, the behavior of it, and his experience.
“The market in the economy right now is skidding along the top, and it has been for months now,” Ruiz said. “We have all-time highs in most indexes that are all within 2% or 3%. I personally believe that we will get a breakout to the top. From an asset allocation point of view, everybody is fully invested as the market continues to give us gains in the dividends and reinvest them.”
Everyone was treated to dinner and the opportunity to walk away with new knowledge about the market for the 2026 season. As a firm that prides itself on having the client – and only the client – in mind, Oak Partners is motivated to provide valuable information to the community members who count on them.
“We hope that everyone is able to have a good time, have a good meal, and have confidence in what we’re doing,” Henry said. “We want them to have confidence that we have an idea of what we can expect in the upcoming months.”
Oak Partners also highlighted some of their upcoming events throughout the year at the economic update. On April 15, the organization will support Opportunity Enterprises with its Secure Shred Day. This September, Oak Partners will celebrate its Oaktoberfest celebration at Bulldog Park.
