The Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ invite the public to experience an evening of scared music and community at the Ancilla Domini Chapel on Sunday, December 6, 2026.
This year’s concert promises to fill the Chapel with soaring voices and beautiful orchestral accompaniment as we celebrate the Blessed Virgin Mary’s song of praise.
Among the pieces being performed at the concert is Talyor Scott Davis’s 2020 composition “The Magnificat.” This stirring work sets to music the opening words of Mary’s Song from the Gospel of Luke, celebrating her joyful response to God’s call, blending the timeless sacred text with a vibrant contemporary musical voice.
“The Magnificat is a 2,000-year-old text that continues to inspire new and creative forms of expression. Scott Davis’s music explores a vast range of emotions, inviting performers and listeners alike to encounter this ancient text in ways that are both profound and deeply personal,” said Dr. Andrew Jennings, Director of Liturgy and Music.
The concert begins at 4:00 PM ET and is free and open to the public, with no reservations required. A reception with light refreshments will follow the concert. Audiences of all ages are invited to be part of this tradition that has inspired generations.
