Legacy Medical Academy, formerly known as Legacy CNA Training, has introduced a new brand identity and website to reflect its growth and expanded role in healthcare education across Indiana.
“This rebranding represents not just a new name, but a renewed vision to provide accessible, workforce-aligned healthcare training to communities across Indiana,” said Matt Presley, President and Chief Education Officer of Legacy Medical Academy. “We’re no longer just training CNAs. We’re creating flexible, accessible pathways for students and career changers to step into meaningful healthcare roles.”
With training sites in Mishawaka, Carmel, and Fort Wayne, Legacy’s programs now extend beyond Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training to include Qualified Medication Aide (QMA), Insulin Administration, and CPR certifications. The expanded scope of offerings was a driving factor in the name change, reflecting the academy’s role in preparing students for multiple entry points into healthcare careers.
The new website provides program details, class schedules, enrollment guidance, and student stories. It includes a dedicated section for community partners, where healthcare providers, employers, and educators can learn how to collaborate with Legacy Medical Academy to support workforce development, provide clinical experiences, and build healthcare career pathways for students.
Legacy continues to train adults pursuing healthcare careers, and its work has also expanded into Indiana high schools through the state’s Career Scholarship Account (CSA) program. In the past year, Legacy has grown from serving a small group of students to serving more than 300 high school students across multiple schools. Across all of these partnerships, students routinely earn employment opportunities in long-term care, acute care, and
home care, underscoring both the demand for talent and the real-world opportunities these pathways create. In addition, high school students are using their CNA credential and direct patient care experience in the clinical setting to position themselves for direct entry into post-secondary nursing programs.
“Since 2014, Legacy has prepared more than 5,000 individuals for caregiving careers,” Presley added. “This new chapter allows us to better highlight those achievements, connect with future students, and continue responding to Indiana’s growing demand for healthcare workers.”
