IU Northwest names Dorothy Frink, Ph.D., as Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Services and Student Engagement

Indiana University Northwest has named Dr. Dorothy Frink as its Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Services and Student Engagement. She will begin her appointment today, Monday, June 1.

Serving as the interim Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs & Enrollment Management since 2023, Frink brings extensive leadership experience in student affairs, enrollment management and student success initiatives.

During her interim tenure, she helped lead an institutional enrollment turnaround, increasing new student enrollment by 41 percent over four years while reversing prior enrollment decline trends. She also helped improve institutional retention rates through coordinated student success strategies and expanded access initiatives focused on supporting underserved student populations.

Additionally, Frink secured and leveraged nearly $3 million in external funding to support student services, basic needs initiatives and institutional effectiveness efforts. She also collaborated with strategic community partners to expand scholarship opportunities and strengthen pathways to higher education for Northwest Indiana students.

“Dr. Frink’s leadership, vision and unwavering commitment to student success have already made a significant impact on our campus community,” Chancellor Arrick Jackson said. “Her ability to align enrollment strategies, student engagement and institutional priorities has positioned IU Northwest for continued growth and momentum. We are excited to see her continue advancing this important work in a permanent leadership role.”

In her new position, Frink will oversee Enrollment Services and Student Engagement at IU Northwest, helping lead efforts related to enrollment growth, student support services, retention initiatives and the overall student experience, including collegiate athletics.

“I am honored to continue serving IU Northwest and the students we are privileged to support,” Frink said. “This institution has a deep commitment to access, opportunity and student success, and I look forward to continuing our work together to create meaningful pathways for students and our community.”

Frink earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership from Indiana State University, her master’s in management from Oakland City University and an undergraduate degree in biology from Manchester College.
