The inaugural Dynasty Sports Film Festival is coming to South Bend October 22-25, bringing together athletes, filmmakers and fans to celebrate the intersection of competition, culture and cinema. Attendees can expect four days of curated screenings, live events, industry panels, and athlete-led conversations.
The festival will screen films and series across six awards categories. It will also screen films and television series out of competition.
The film festival opens Thursday, October 22nd at Century Center Bendix Arena, with a world premiere screening of the documentary film, LOU HOLTZ: 60 MINUTES TO PLAY AND A LIFETIME TO REMEMBER, about iconic Notre Dame Coach Lou Holtz followed by a Q&A moderated by ESPN’s Hannah Storm featuring director Ted Mandell and former Notre Dame football player, Reggie Brooks. The evening will culminate with an Opening Night Party at Studebaker National Museum.
The first full day of the festival, Friday, October 23, will kick off screenings and more premieres to include FIRST FIVE at Bendix Arena and I PLAY ROCKY at AMC Classic South Bend 16.
With its epicenter in downtown South Bend, the festival will open the Pabst Light Sports Garden Saturday, October 24, where attendees can gather and watch games from 12-6 p.m. There will also be a Podcast & Creator Studio, a dedicated audio and video stage where creators, media personalities, and podcasters record, livestream and host conversations live from the festival.
The Festival Hub and Media Center is where you will find press interviews, media appearances, informal meetings and daily festival activity in one central gathering place. Screenings and premieres continue with the upcoming Prime Video drama series, THE GREATEST, about the life of Muhammad Ali, making its festival debut at Morris Performing Arts Center with a sneak-peak screening of episode 1.
The schedule includes three anniversary screenings of Hoosiers (directors cut), Jerry Maguire and Cars. Sunday, October 25 is a family day at Four Winds Field from 2-5 p.m., where Cars will be played and other surprises can be expected.
