GreatNews.Life rings in the new year with new partnerships, new growth

GreatNews.Life has always strived to be your free source of good news. Whether that’s heading out across the community to snap the perfect photo of the winning touchdown or sharing the inspiring stories that make up the heart of Northern Indiana through our different spotlight series, we’re there to make sure the good of Northern Indiana is accessible to the community without a paywall and easy and free to share with others.

Keeping good news free wouldn’t be possible without the support of our community partners, and as we enter the new year, we’re proud to announce several new partnerships that prove it’s always a good day for great news.

The Region has always been our home. From the very beginning, the good happening here has inspired us to grab our cameras, pick up our pens, and share the story of Northwest Indiana. This year, we’re proud to add Hoosier Solar, Tech Credit Union, El Salto Mexican Restaurant, Doral Renewables, Powering Indiana, and the La Porte County Public Library to our list of partners.

“Partners power great news and they have now for almost two decades,” GreatNews.Life Founder Chris Mahlmann said.

Our expansion into Michiana has experienced a lot of exciting growth as well. Since launching Michiana.Life in 2024, we’ve covered over 300 events and grown to 4,000+ followers on Facebook, creating a community that already feels like home. In 2026, the Lerner Theatre, REAL Services, the YMCA of Greater Michiana, Elkhart Parks and Recreation, and the Elkhart County CVB will help us continue to grow with their support of good news.

“The growth we’ve seen in Michiana has been incredibly exciting for our team. The reception from the community has been truly incredible and honestly one of the best we’ve experienced as we’ve grown across Northern Indiana. We’re grateful for the support and excited to keep showing up, building relationships, and sharing the stories that make this region special as we continue to grow alongside our Michiana partners,” GreatNews.Life Executive Director Jenny Craig-Brown said.

Without our partnerships, GreatNews.Life wouldn’t be able to add over 90,000 new photos to our digital library or share 3,000 articles in 2025. We wouldn’t be able to publish an all-new platform to share our stories or attend 40+ high school graduations celebrating the achievements of Northern Indiana’s students. Without our partners, we couldn’t provide three weekly newsletters, weekly series, paid student internships, free publishing for schools K-12, and monthly podcasts completely free of charge for our readers. 

“Great News leads to great impact. Every picture you see or share, every positive story told, every memory recorded in our library of good people, groups, teams, events, and organizations we put the spotlight on are now powered by these great community organizations that have their own positive impact news to share,” Mahlmann said.
