Crossroads Chamber’s Annual Gala to Celebrate Regional Growth, Honor Northwest Indiana Educators and First Responders

Nov. 14 celebration at Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana will recognize the individuals and partnerships strengthening communities across the region.

As Crossroads Chamber continues to expand its reach and strengthen connections throughout Northwest Indiana, the organization is preparing to celebrate the people and partnerships that help the region thrive at its annual Rockin’ Northwest Indiana: Putting on the Hitz Gala, Saturday, Nov. 14, at Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana in Gary.

The event is expected to bring together more than 400 business professionals, community leaders and regional partners for an evening of recognition, networking and entertainment. Central to this year’s celebration is the Chamber’s commitment to honoring outstanding educators and first responders whose contributions extend far beyond their respective professions.

Representing more than 600 businesses across a seven-county region, Crossroads Chamber continues to broaden its regional presence by fostering partnerships that connect businesses, educational institutions, public safety organizations and community leaders. The Gala reflects that growing commitment, recognizing that Northwest Indiana’s continued prosperity depends not only on economic development, but also on the people who educate, protect and serve its communities.

“As Crossroads Chamber continues to grow, so does our responsibility to recognize the people who make Northwest Indiana a stronger place to live, work and do business,” said Deann Patena, president and CEO of Crossroads Chamber. “Our annual Gala is more than a celebration of business. It’s an opportunity to bring communities together and honor the educators and first responders whose dedication helps shape the future of our entire region.”

Among the evening’s highlights will be the Inspiring Educator Awards and First Responder Awards, recognizing individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership and service in their respective communities.

The recognition of first responders underscores the critical role public safety professionals play in maintaining strong, resilient communities and the importance of collaboration between businesses, government agencies and emergency services throughout Northwest Indiana.

“Recognizing first responders is essential, because their dedication, courage, and professionalism are the backbone of safe and thriving communities across Northwest Indiana,” said Sgt. Glen Fifield, public information officer for the Indiana State Police Lowell District. “Bringing together public safety professionals, businesses, and community leaders strengthens the partnerships that help all of us serve our region more effectively.”

Similarly, the Chamber’s recognition of educators highlights the connection between education, workforce development and regional economic growth. As Northwest Indiana’s industries evolve, partnerships between schools and businesses remain essential to preparing students for future career opportunities and strengthening the region’s workforce.

“Our educators’ impact reaches far beyond the classroom. It lives in the confidence our students carry, the paths they pursue, and the communities they help build,” said Dr. Stacey Schmidt, superintendent of Porter Township School Corporation. “I’m grateful to Crossroads Chamber for celebrating that impact and actively working to strengthen the connections between our schools and the businesses that help our region grow and thrive.”

Beyond the awards presentation, guests will enjoy an evening of networking, dining and live entertainment celebrating Northwest Indiana’s vibrant business community.

The festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail hour featuring live entertainment by Jack Cunningham. Dinner and the awards presentation will follow at 7 p.m., with live music and dancing to Hello Weekend from 8 to 10:30 p.m. The evening will also feature a silent auction.

The annual Gala serves as one of Crossroads Chamber’s largest gatherings of the year, providing an opportunity for members, regional partners and community leaders to celebrate shared accomplishments while strengthening the relationships that support Northwest Indiana’s continued growth.
