Costumes, candy and Halloween fun are taking over Chesterton during the Duneland Chamber’s annual Downtown Trick or Treat on Friday, October 30, from 4-6 PM.
Local businesses along Calumet and Broadway will open their doors to trick-or-treaters, while additional businesses and organizations will be set up in the Duneland Chamber parking lot and on Broadway.
“Downtown Trick or Treat is such a fun night for both families and our business community,” said Rachel Campbell, Events Manager for the Duneland Chamber of Commerce. “There’s always a great energy and so many kids and pets dressed up and making their way through town. It’s one of those events that really brings everyone together for some community fun.”
More than 1,000 children and their families are expected to attend. To help keep lines moving smoothly and reduce congestion, trick-or-treaters are asked to follow the event route counterclockwise. Volunteers and directional signs will be stationed throughout the event area to help guide families along the way.
Families are encouraged to bring their trick-or-treat bags, wear their favorite costumes and enjoy an evening of Halloween fun in Chesterton!
