Red, Wine & Brew (June 27–29): Celebrate 10 years of Red, Wine & Brew at The Summit in LaPorte! This popular event features live music from national acts like Big & Rich, Parmalee, Lee Greenwood, and Dillon Carmichael, along with barbecue, wine, and beer tastings. Proceeds benefit local first responders. Don’t miss the fireworks and drone show grand finale.
Fireworks Over Clear Lake (July 3, Dusk): Enjoy a patriotic concert by the LaPorte City Band at 7 PM at the Dennis F. Smith Amphitheater, followed by a free fireworks show over Clear Lake. Presented by the LaPorte County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Kiwanis Club of La Porte 4th of July Parade (July 4, 10 AM): One of the largest parades in Indiana! This year’s theme, Community Spirit in Full Bloom, celebrates the pride, creativity, and warmth that makes LaPorte shine. Bands, floats, dancers, public safety units, and more take over Downtown LaPorte. Come early and bring a lawn chair!
Run for Riley (July 4, 8:30 AM): Start your holiday with the Kiwanis Club’s Run for Riley 5K. The route runs along Lincolnway—just ahead of the parade—and benefits Riley Children’s Hospital.
Patriotic Parade (June 28, 11 AM): A Michigan City tradition since 1957! Floats, bands, and classic cars will roll down Franklin Street, followed by: Braden Fiske Family Fun Day (June 28, 1:00–4:30 PM, Ames Field): Food trucks, games, and fun for the whole family!
Fireworks Over Lake Michigan (July 4, Dusk): Head to Washington Park for a beautiful beach sunset and fireworks show over the lake. Arrive early for a prime spot!
Long Beach Civic 4th of July Celebration (July 4): Happening July 4, the annual parade begins at 10 AM and includes a flyover. After the parade, stick around for entertainment, music, food, and drinks on the lawn at the Town of Long Beach Park, across from Town Hall at 2400 Oriole Trail. Fireworks, food, and Fourth of July fun—what more could you want?!
Red, White & Brews at Shoreline Brewery (July 5, 2 PM–Midnight): A beloved 20th annual tradition featuring food, craft beer, fireworks, and three powerhouse bands: Stealin’ The Farm, Chester Brown, and Joe Marcinek’s Dead Funk Summit—featuring Ivan Neville, Tony Hall, Deven Trusclair, and more. It’s a family-friendly event that takes place rain or shine.
Washington Park Beach on Lake Michigan’s Southern Shore (Michigan City): Swim, splash at the pad, explore the zoo, and visit the East Light and Old Lighthouse Museum.
