Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana prepares for exhilarating 2026 summer camp season

The end of the school year is coming up quickly, and Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana is preparing a big opportunity for Club kids across the Region. Starting in early June and lasting through early August, the annual summer camp program will return to provide families with a safe, active, and engaging environment for their children throughout the summer months.

Hosted at eight Club locations, summer camp features daily breakfast and lunch, weekly themed activities, unique field trips, and top-notch educational programming designed to prevent learning loss in creative ways.

“A great summer isn’t just about fun — it’s about creating moments where kids can learn, grow, and thrive while enjoying every day,” Senior Director of Club Experience Natalie Birky said. “Summer camp gives kids a place to discover who they are in a fun and supportive environment.”

This year, Clubs will take field trips to destinations such as Zao Island, Urban Air, Porter County Fair, Ninja Kidz, Sky Zone, Indiana Beach, Up Your Alley, RailCats games, Albanese Candy Factory, Emagine, Indiana Dinosaur Museum, and Potawatomi Zoo.

Each Club hosting summer camp opens earlier during the program, starting at 6:30 a.m. and running until 6 p.m. On a typical day, a Club member arrives before 8 a.m. and grabs breakfast before jumping into Summer Brain Gain, a series of exciting, themed activities designed to keep kids learning throughout the school offseason. From science to art, kids will have plenty of opportunities to express their creativity. Whether a child has a passion for flag football or playing in an e-sports league, summer camp offers something for everyone.

Each Club typically prepares its own unique calendar. Some days may focus on opportunities in the community, while others could include trips to attractions in Chicago.

“Our summer camps aren’t just about the activities — they’re about friendships, personal growth, and creating unforgettable experiences,” Birky said.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana is committed to keeping summer camp affordable for families across the Region. This summer, Clubs are offering a $25 summer-only membership before any discounts. Members are able to attend whichever camps they choose. Many Clubs also offer daily drop-in rates for parents who need childcare for a day or two.

The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana is centered around serving families throughout the community. Military families, Anthem Medicaid card holders, and foster families can receive free or reduced memberships, and various scholarships are available for qualified families. School employees from any school system served by Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana are also eligible for discounts. The ultimate goal is to never turn away a family who wants their children to be Club kids.

“We serve many hardworking families, and for some of our kids, a traditional summer vacation isn’t possible due to demanding work schedules at home,” Birky said. “We just want all of our Club kids to always have a special experience.”
