Crossroads Chamber and United Way Northwest Indiana Partner to Launch Regional Job Board

Powered by Rollie Jobs, new online resource connects Northwest Indiana employers with job seekers and provides free access to local employment opportunities

Connecting local employers with qualified talent and helping Northwest Indiana residents find their next opportunity is the goal of a new regional job board launched through a partnership between Crossroads, Northwest Indiana’s Chamber and United Way Northwest Indiana.

Powered by Rollie Jobs and sponsored by United Way Northwest Indiana, the platform brings together employment opportunities from businesses across the region, with openings represented in a wide range of industries, including healthcare and social assistance, finance and insurance, construction, hospitality, and other professional and community-based services.

The partnership brings together Crossroads Chamber’s connections with the business community and United Way Northwest Indiana’s relationships with residents, nonprofits, and community partners. Together, the organizations aim to make local employment opportunities easier to find while giving area businesses greater visibility among potential employees.

“Businesses are looking for people, and people are looking for opportunities. Connecting the two isn’t always easy,” said Deann Patena, Executive Director of Crossroads Chamber. “This platform gives our members another way to get their openings in front of a broader audience without adding another recruitment expense. We’re bringing opportunities together in one place, making it easier for job seekers to explore what’s available while helping our member businesses connect with local talent.”

The platform automatically discovers job openings by crawling the websites of Crossroads Chamber member businesses and consolidating those listings in one online location. Employers must be Crossroads Chamber members to have their opportunities featured, but there is no additional charge to participate beyond Chamber membership.

Job seekers can access the platform for free, with no membership or program enrollment requirements. The resource is open to anyone looking for employment opportunities, whether entering the workforce, returning to work, considering a career change, or looking for the next step professionally.

Chris White, President and CEO of United Way Northwest Indiana said, “This partnership is about making connections easier. The Job Board will put real opportunities in front of more Northwest Indiana residents. For families working hard to make ends meet, access to a better job can open the door to greater financial stability. And for employers, finding the right people helps their businesses and our regional economy grow.”

Another important component of the platform is transparency. By collecting opportunities directly from member businesses’ own websites, the job board helps job seekers find openings connected to identifiable local employers. It also creates a shared resource where available positions can be discovered without employers having to pay additional fees to promote individual listings.

Crossroads Chamber members are encouraged to keep their company career pages current and connect with the Chamber to ensure their openings are represented. Community organizations, employers, and residents are also encouraged to share the resource with anyone who may benefit from it.

Since launching, the Job Board has brought together more than 3,000 employment opportunities from businesses across Northwest Indiana. Job seekers can explore available openings for free at www.crossroadschamber.org/job-board/.
