Goshen Center for Cancer Care Leads the Way at Relay for Life Michiana 2025

Team members from Goshen Center for Cancer Care proudly came together on Saturday, June 14, at the St. Joseph County Fairgrounds to participate in Relay for Life Michiana, an impactful event organized by the American Cancer Society to honor cancer survivors, support caregivers, and raise funds for cancer research and patient services.

As presenting sponsor, Goshen Center for Cancer Care’s presence was felt throughout the event—from walking the track in support of those impacted by cancer to engaging with the community at their vendor tent. The sponsorship reflects Goshen Center for Cancer Care’s unwavering dedication to comprehensive, patient-centered cancer care and its deep roots in the Michiana community.

“Our mission goes far beyond treatment,” said Ashley Ladig, nurse manager at Goshen Center for Cancer Care. “Relay for Life brings us together to honor every person who has been touched by cancer. It’s about community, compassion, and hope—and that’s what we stand for every single day.”

Goshen Center for Cancer Care offers a full spectrum of services to treat the whole person, including radiation and medical oncology, nutrition and mind-body counseling. This integrated approach is reflected in the team’s active role in events like Relay for Life, where healing extends beyond clinical walls.

Ladig, a cancer survivor herself, shared her personal connection to the event and its meaning.

“I know firsthand what it’s like to hear the words, ‘You have cancer.’ I’ve walked that road, and I’ve sat in that infusion chair,” she said. “Now, I have the privilege of caring for others on their journey. Being part of Relay for Life is incredibly personal for me—and it’s a beautiful reminder that none of us are in this fight alone.”

Relay for Life serves as a powerful reflection of the strength, resilience, and unity found within the cancer community—values that align deeply with the mission of Goshen Center for Cancer Care.

“As a team, we’re here to lift up our patients, walk beside them, and celebrate their strength,” Ladig said. “Events like this reaffirm our purpose and why we do what we do.”
