“I want to do it for my team, my family, and everything. I want to try and go to sectionals and win, maybe even go to regionals! I just like the discipline and hard work of wrestling…” “The normal practice for us. We usually get to the gym around 5PM. Then we stretch, and do our warm ups. The coach has us do these things called pillars. They’re pretty much suicides but to the extreme and we do 10 of these which is brutal. Our conditioning…we usually go into flows, new moves, and everything. After the last 30 minutes of practice, we just go straight into live working, keeping that grind up, and just working our moves.” Colin Montgonery (Boone Grove HS)
“Today, I just want to wrestle with pride. I’m not really looking at the wins and losses and more along the lines of how I can get better for sectionals next week.” “A normal day for us. We’ll get to Andrean around 6AM. We’ll usually weigh in, check our weight, drive in the van, drive to the hosting school, weigh in about 7AM, eat and warm up. Usually wrestling starts about 9AM and we’ll wrestle a couple matches, have some lunch, wrestle a few more matches and depending on what we’re doing and usually be out between 3PM-6PM.” Andy Yurechko (Andrean HS)
