“Working out and physical health is very, very important especially for teenagers. Part of it is that we struggle with insecurities and I think getting into working out or running can definitely increase your confidence and self-esteem as a person. Even if you’re not the best runner, still…runningis just the best thing to do for yourself, your mind, and your body.” -Jayla Miller (Crown Point)
“I think we did very well today. Six out of the seven boys on the team today PR’ed (Personal record) today and we like to hear that a lot. It’s always a good day when a lot of people really tried to do their best and everyone was stuck in teams and everyone knew what the time was and they just wanted to get better no matter what happened.” “Well I was really happy to beat my time and I was with my teammates the whole time which really motivated me to keep going and make it to the end and without them, I don’t think I could have done it.” “I think one thing that really motivated me was my teammate. Brady as well because if I wasn’t there with him, I wouldn’t have been able to PR with minus-20 on my time if it wasn’t for him.” Ryan Stoner, Brady Anderson, and Ayden McClellan (Wheeler)
“I usually go into races really nervous. So my whole plan was just to calm down a little bit, relax, and just think about how many people I could pick off when I’m out there. My plan is to really get into the 20’s this year, the low 20’s” Audrey Zuzich (Hanover Central)
“So I feel like today was honestly a really positive environment when we ran. It’s a very simple course and the weather was nice. Me and my team like to stay together. We like to build off of each other and we like to feel good about each other’s time. So when I finished and she (Patz) finished, it’s almost as if we were using each other during the race.” -Kaylee Pickett (Lowell)
