BOYS FOOTBALL SECTIONALS Crown Point VS Merrillville 2026

FINAL SCORE: 43-33 Crown Point

Crown Point will advance to the IHSAA Sectional finals next Friday against Lake Central. Congratulations to the Merrillville Pirates on an incredible season!

“They (Merrillville) came in with a lot of energy and we had to contain it. We played our game with our coaches and finished the job. We had to improve the whole week, working on their stunts and all their movements, and just perfecting things.”…”We had to fall back on our training and that’s how we got out of this one.”…”I always go to Jersey Mike’s before a game and get an Italian Sub…I go to Subway and get a footlong meatball sub with pepperoni…before the game, Jersey Mike’s number eight club sub. After the game, go to Philly Steak and lemonade in Merrillville…I’ll order me a Philly steak sandwich with garlic fries and it always hits! No mushrooms though!.”…”I think we just play with God by our side. We pray before the game and play as a team and it really helps us. The practice and the hard work we put in at practice just pays off in the game. God by our side, and brotherhood…that’s what we’ve got!” -Zach Clark, Tony Brooks, and Connor Cavalcante (Crown Point HS. Offensive line)
