A host of events occurred during halftime! The Lake Central Centralettes dance squad hosted their youth night which they invited dancers from K-8 to share the floor with the Centralettes and perform! The Lake Central homecoming court finalists were also presented after the performance and the final homecoming King and Queen will be announced at tomorrow’s Lake Central homecoming dance! Best of luck to everyone!
“Right now, we’re trying to relax ourselves. We know that we have practiced enough to be great and we know what to do so we’re just breathing, taking our time to relax and know that what we go out and put on the field is the best we can do.” -Alex Ehlebracht (Lake Central Band-Trumpet)
“The Centralettes (Lake Central Dance Team) last weekend hosted a clinic for all the youth in the community. So today, they’re out here about to perform during halftime and show the fans what they’ve learned this past weekend. Our Centralettes have won State Championships since 1995 and they are undefeated. They’ve also won 22 national titles and are getting ready to start another season. We’re pretty proud of our kids. We’re grateful for the community and we’re blessed to have all these little kids out here with us.” -Kevin Mathis (Lake Central Head Dance Coach)
“This is a big bounce back win for us coming off a loss from last week. Our game plan was to just light up the scoreboard. We knew they would blitz a lot, so we knew we had to take care of that front and our defense rocked the whole game. So shout out to our defense and offense! They held it down with getting points on the board! I think I was coming out here just executing.” -Trinaston Hart (Michigan City-Quarterback/Wide Receiver)
“I was really going to take it to the crib (Fumble recovery run). I was there, I saw the end zone. It was the first time touching the ball…man, I was really there and was about to take off. I’ve never seen the ball in front of me like that and could’ve gotten my yards up but five yards is good as a right tackle and as a lineman. Our goal was to come with a bad attitude. You know we’ve got a good game, a good game plan, and to get the work done!” -Edgar Garcia (Michigan City- Offensive Tackle)
