BOYS FOOTBALL Hanover VS. Highland 2025
FINAL SCORE: 28-0 Hanover Central
Tonight was Pop Warner Night as the Highland Youth Elementary squads joined the Highland varsity cheer team in performing and keeping the crowd entertained! The Highland Unified Dance Team also performed during halftime and they had such a great performance with everything!
“I play both sides on the line and the objective right now is to just rebuild on the past two weeks and work towards getting better. We’re just here to win and get better. That’s all we have to do every week.” -James Trton (Hanover Central: Offensive and Defensive line)
“It was really cool. This is actually a student level student led thing. They brought this to me and said, “Hey, we want to include some of our unified students that have a unified dance”. So our captains of our dance team did this. They brought it together. They bring our kids into practice. It is awesome for our community. Obviously we want to be an inclusive environment for all of our students and it means a lot. I almost cried a little bit. It’s beautiful watching them do it and it’s really fun and everyone was just excited.” -Ryan Harrington (Highland HS Athletic Director)
“Having Pop Warner to be here with the high school tonight. The little ones look up to these girls. They always are super excited to be cheering with them so we’re just happy to be here spreading community, just trying to be one town. Hopefully these little ones will grow up and they’ll go to Highland High School, so were just excited to be here.” -Jessica Faro (Highland Pop Warner Cheer President)
“So we lost our left tackle last week (injury) so being without him, that’s my wingman so it was a little different going into this game. We had to start a new guy. He’s never started before and I think he handled it really well. Our schemes were pretty good and we did great. First half was a little rough and I think we could’ve done better with our double teams and working together…I think we played great the second half so we just hope we could work off of that and just keep getting better and better every week.” “It was pretty rough in the beginning but we brought it back in the second half. Now our left tackle is gone; very sad but the guy who came up did really good!” -Sean Conlon and Jaxson Sossong (Hanover Central Offensive line)
