The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana is the largest hunger relief organization in Northwest Indiana and is leading the fight against hunger by acquiring and distributing more than 4.3 million meals annually.
The Food Bank works with 100+ partner agencies, including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and day care centers. Each year more than 145,000 households are served by agencies in Lake and Porter Counties.
Hunger relief programs like BackPack, CSFP (Senior-focused hunger relief), Summer Food Assistance Program and Pantry on the Go are a lifeline to the hungry kids, adults and seniors across the region. The supplemental food provided through these programs helps a number of families and individuals make ends meet.
Nearly 100,000 individuals are food insecure in Northwest Indiana, meaning they lack access to enough good, nutritious food for themselves and their families. Because of generous supporters, corporate partners and grant monies, the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana is able to provide hope to thousands of our hungry neighbors.
