Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. and the City of Hammond invite the community to come together for the 13th Annual Veterans Appreciation Day Parade on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
Join us along Eastbound 173rd Street Starting near Olcott Ave, as we honor the men and women who have served our country. Bring your family, friends, and neighbors, and help us fill the parade route with hometown pride and appreciation for our veterans.
The parade will feature local American Legion and VFW posts, area high school bands, musical entertainment, and special guests. The Lima Lima Flight Team will also take to the skies for a special flyover at approximately 9:45 a.m. Be sure to arrive early, find your spot along the route, and get ready to show your support!
Following the parade, everyone is invited to join us for a short ceremonial program honoring our veterans at the Hessville Park Veterans Memorial, located at the corner 173rd Street and Kennedy Avenue.
