Please join Mayor Thomas M. McDermott Jr., The City of Hammond, and The Ministerial Alliance of Hammond and Vicinity for a Commemorative March and Celebration in honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We will be marching from MLK Freedom Plaza to The Hammond Civic Center.
The ceremony will take place on Monday, January 19. The gathering will begin at 6:30 a.m., with the march taking place at 6:45 a.m.
The City of Hammond has made it a point of emphasis for many years to honor Martin Luther King Jr. through educational opportunities in the community and bring light to the power he had as a civil rights activist.
