Red, Wine & Brew (June 25–28): Celebrate America and honor those who have served at the 11th Annual Red, Wine & Brew Fest! Enjoy live music from The Band Perry, Martina McBride, Chowder, and Lee Greenwood, along with delicious barbecue, refreshing brews, and a festive atmosphere. Gather with friends and family for a day and evening of patriotic fun while supporting local first responders through event proceeds. Don’t miss the incredible fireworks and drone show that caps off the celebration!
Fireworks Over Clear Lake (July 3, Dusk): Enjoy an evening of live music from The 1985 at the Dennis F. Smith Amphitheater, highlighted by a spectacular fireworks display over Clear Lake. Food trucks and a beer garden will also be featured throughout the event. This event is presented by the La Porte County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Hesston Steam Museum Independence Day Celebration (July 3-5, Noon-5pm): Celebrate America’s 250th at the Hesston Steam Museum with train rides, historic steam power, and classic treats the whole family will enjoy this Independence Day!
Run for Riley (July 4, 8am): Kick off your holiday with the Kiwanis Club’s Run for Riley 5K. The route follows Lincolnway just ahead of the parade and benefits Riley Children’s Hospital. Come cheer on the runners/walkers and support the children they are running for!
Kiwanis Club of La Porte 4th of July Parade (July 4, 10am): Experienceone of the largest parades in Indiana! This year’s theme, Generations of Freedom, honors the people and traditions that have shaped America across generations. Bands, floats, dancers, public safety units, and more will fill Downtown La Porte with patriotic spirit. New this year, a float judging contest will add even more excitement, with cash prizes awarded to the winners. Bring a lawn chair and an American flag and join the celebration on the morning of the Fourth of July.
Patriotic Parade (June 27, 11am-12:30pm): A Michigan City tradition since 1957! Floats, bands, and sleek classic cars will roll down Franklin Street. With more than 100 entries, enjoy a beautiful showcase of community spirit and patriotic pride. The parade also features a flyover, making this family friendly event even more memorable.
Braden Fiske Family Fun Day (June 27, 12:30-4pm): Continue the fun at Ames Field after the parade with a free, family-friendly event. This fantastic day has something for everyone, including bounce houses, games, delicious food trucks, free haircuts, a live DJ, raffles, and plenty of hands-on activities led by MCAS athletic teams. This event celebrates our youth, strengthens community pride, and gives back to the area where Braden Fiske, now a Los Angeles Rams player, once starred while playing for Michigan City.
Church Bells Ringing (July 4, Noon): Churches throughout Michigan City, La Porte, and surrounding communities will ring their bells at noon on the Fourth of July in celebration of our country’s 250th birthday.
Michigan City Fireworks Spectacular (July 4, 8:30-9:30pm): Head to Washington Park for a beautiful beach sunset and fireworks show over the lake. Arrive early for a prime spot!
Long Beach Civic 4th of July Celebration (July 4): Cruise over to Long Beach on the morning of the Fourth of July to enjoy the Independence Day Parade, followed by a live DJ, delicious grilled hot dogs and brats, cool drinks, and sweet treats across from Long Beach Town Hall.* Stick around after the festivities to watch a sparkling fireworks show that begins at dusk. Don’t forget to check out the Long Beach Fourth of July merch and show off your red, white, and blue while soaking up the summer fun!
