Tri-Township Schools Receives $32,000 Robotics Competition Grant from IDOE

Funds Allotted to Engage Students with STEM Learning Experiences

The Indiana Department of Education’s (IDOE’s) Office of Teaching and Learning recently announced the 92 recipients of the 2025-2026 K-12 Robotics Competition Grant. Tri-Township schools received $32,000 in support of its elementary, middle and high school teams.

“We are extremely excited to receive these funds right at the start of the school year,” said newly appointed Superintendent Dr. Paige McNulty. “Our Robotics program is award-winning and has a strong presence across the district. We look forward to using the grant to promote STEM initiatives and continued participation in competitions across the state.”

Awarded through funds appropriated by the Indiana General Assembly, this grant aligns with the mission of Indiana’s Priorities for STEM Education to provide Indiana students with engaging STEM learning experiences that prepare them for emerging careers and educational opportunities.

The award letter sent to Tri-Township School officials stated the following:

There were 186 grant proposals submitted for this competitive funding opportunity. The review team was impressed by your plan to design, construct, program, and operate robots in competitions sponsored by nonprofit organizations with the goal of increasing Indiana student interest in STEM.”

Tri-Township will also participate in the upcoming Scarecrow Festival September 27th featuring a go-kart in the parade to highlight the launch of its new evGo-Kart program. Students are set to compete in the Purdue Grand Prix in the spring of 2026.
