GIRLS GYMNASTICS DAC CHAMPIONSHIP 2023

Gymnastics teams all across NWI competed at Portage High School at the DAC Championship.

Merrillville High School head Gymnastics coach Diane Roberts was honored before the meet today with a bouquet of flowers and a beautiful plaque commemorating her 50 years of service to the sport of gymnastics and to the school. Roberts started in 1973 and she commented that she felt the lve today from everyone and she’s known these people for so many years. She has a special place in her heart for all of them.

BOYS BASKETBALL SECTIONAL Chesterton VS. Crown Point 2023

The Chesterton Trojans are moving on as they beat the Bulldogs 59-50. On March 7th, Chesterton and Valparaiso are playing for a sectional title, which is a long-awaited matchup.

The top scorers of the game were Tyler Parrish with 25pts on the Trojan side and Jack Svetich on the Crown Point side with 18pts.

3A BOYS SOCCER REGIONAL Hobart VS. Lake Central 2023

Tonight the Lake Central Indians took on the Hobart Brickies in the 3A regional semi-finals. LC was the first to score thanks to a Craig Rusin penalty kick. Going into the half LC led 2-1 because of Miller Knestrict’s goal. In the second half, LC scored again making it 3-1 thanks to Michael Miljevic. The Brickies were not able to make a comeback. The final score was Lake Central 3 Hobart 1. LC will face Concord this Saturday at Penn High School.

Crown Point wins 42-7 against Lake Cenrtal during sectionals with Noah Ehrlich throwing a perfect 9-9 for 183 yds and 4 TD’s!
