Team Chevrolet Valparaiso adds new medium-duty lift to service department

Whether you’re just dropping by, in the market for something new, or looking to get your vehicle serviced, Team Chevrolet Valparaiso can promise fully equipped service both on the sales floor and in the service center.

While the talented techs in the service center are specifically trained in fixing up Chevy vehicles, anyone is welcome to stop in. Team Chevy is dedicated to upholding its mission to better the lives of its guests through its experienced technicians and the vast array of equipment at their disposal.

“We see everything from minor duty maintenance to major engine overhauls, transmissions, diesel repairs, and DEF tanks.” said Pete Xidias, service manager. “It’s not one specific thing; we see a lot of variety and have a lot of diverse concerns and repairs that we do.”

The newest addition in the Team Chevy Valparaiso toolkit is a medium-duty lift.

A medium-duty lift is a handy piece of equipment that has proved to be one of many useful tools at the service center’s disposal. Prior to receiving the new equipment, the service center was only capable of servicing vehicles with its standard duty lifts, which have a capacity of 8,000 pounds. It’s no problem to get a typical sedan, or even a pick-up truck on the standard lift, but taking care of anything larger became an issue limiting the service center’s ability to serve the community.

“We did our homework. We’re backed by resourceful people within the company – they know what works and what’s a good product to add to our repertoire.” said Xidias.

The new medium-duty lift has a higher capacity to raise heavier vehicles for repair, with a weight limit of 20,000 pounds. The lift is the perfect addition to further meet the needs of anyone dropping by for routine or scheduled maintenance for a wider range of cars.

Vehicles too heavy for the standard lift are often service vehicles on tight schedules – large trucks or vans loaded with equipment, such as toolboxes or different supplies that drastically increase the weight. Taking these trucks or vans back to the warehouse, job site, or facility to unload isn’t a simple task – nor is it a quick one.

“We want to be accommodating and make the turn around as quick, easy, and painless as possible,” Xidias said.

The medium-duty lift eliminates the need to strip out a work vehicle to meet the capacity of standard equipment or find a different shop that can take care of your transportation.

The technicians in the service center feel that the faster you’re back on the road, the better, and they’re dedicated to getting you there. The team took the community’s needs into careful consideration when deciding what equipment would boost their efficiency.

“We have an amazing parts team that has over 30 years of experience. We’re great at keeping things on hand and being resourceful.” Xidias said.

While there’s only one medium-duty lift in the service center for now, Xidias and the other technicians are hopeful they will fit more into the service center in the future.

Team Chevy Valparaiso promises to find the perfect match for the needs of its customers and the community it serves. Whether you’re taking your family car on an errand or stocking a heavy duty van full of supplies, anyone stopping in can be assured their needs will be met.
