Strack & Van Til makes holiday entertaining easier with online meals

The holiday season is quickly approaching, and with that comes the yearly hustle and bustle of finding last-minute gifts, seeing loved ones, tying a million-and-one ribbons and, of course, lots of cooking. This year, Strack & Van Til is taking some of the stress out of holiday entertaining with its online meal ordering program. It’s easier than ever for customers to bring home the warmth and flavor of a festive feast without spending hours in the kitchen.

Strack & Van Til is offering fully cooked Thanksgiving meals that are ready to heat and serve, available for both pick-up and delivery.

“At Strack & Van Til, our vision is to make people’s lives easier,” said E-Commerce Manager Sara Lindquist. “Offering Holiday Meals online where customers can do it from the comfort of their home and pick it up or get it delivered at the time they choose is another step that adds to our mission and vision as a company.”

The program began in early 2025 with a modest selection from the deli department. Since then, it has expanded into a full-service holiday solution, now including the meat and seafood departments and even custom cakes and fresh floral bouquets. Customers can order complete meals or individual components to build their own festive spread.

“They are offering deli sides such as green beans, stuffing, and mashed potatoes separately to enhance the options,” Lindquist said. “This year, we’re offering deli holiday meals, deli side dishes, as well as an exclusive charcuterie board! We’re also offering natural shrimp trays from our seafood department as well as live lobster. As for our meat department, we’re offering an array of fresh turkeys and prime standing rib roast.”

All meals are prepared in-store to ensure quality and freshness. Customers have praised the convenience and personal touch of having staff hand-select and prepare their orders.

“Some feedback we have received is that it’s very convenient. The fact that someone in the store is shopping for their order makes it more personable,” Lindquist said.

Customer service remains a cornerstone of the program.

“This option took some time to make happen. We go to extreme measures to make sure that everything is working right before we launch anything to our customers. We take every comment that comes from our customers seriously. We want to make sure that we listen to every customer who orders online and has feedback,” Lindquist said.

Strack & Van Til offers both pick-up and delivery. For pickup, customers can park at dedicated locations in the store lot and have staff bring out their order. Delivery is handled by third-party providers, bringing meals directly to the customer’s doorstep.

To ensure availability, customers are encouraged to place their orders at least a week in advance.
