Portage High School Students Build “Automoblox” Toy Cars

PHS-IED-01Portage High School’s PLTW Introduction to Engineering and Design Classes have completed the reproduction of an “Automoblox” toy car. Students were required to disassemble the car, measure all of its components with a dial caliper, sketch the parts in their engineer’s notebooks and then draw each part digitally using Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD program. Once all parts were produced, students assembled the drawn parts into a digital reproduction of the original vehicle. To follow up the project, students will begin to 3D print their parts to create a physical re-production of the “Automoblox” vehicle. Students Connor Edwards and Andrew Kane proudly display their finished product.
