Over 100 of Oak Partners’ staff members, partners, clients, and friends took to the green at Youche Country Club for the fiduciary services provider’s 21st annual golf outing. The outing provides an excellent opportunity for Oak Partners and its clients to form strong relationships and connect with each other.
“It lets our clients and their guests see us in more of a fun environment as opposed to something like an educational seminar,” Oak Partners Wealth Advisor Jack DeHaven said. “We love having fun with our clients, and it’s a great introduction for friends of clients who could benefit from Oak Partners’ services.”
The outing began with breakfast before golfers headed out to the course. The impact the golf outing had on Oak Partners’ client bonds was immediately apparent. Laughter and smiles floated freely across the golf course as attendees settled in for a morning of casual play. Mike Barancyk, senior partner and wealth manager at Oak Partners, got to shake hands and exchange jokes as he helped attendees find their starting hole.
“Many times, people come into our office and they’re nervous. Retirement can be a very scary subject,” Barancyk said. “They can equate it with a feeling of ‘I’m done working; what’s my new life purpose?’ We want to ensure clients get to know us in a very comfortable environment so that when they do come to see us in the office, it’s very easy. Events like this help them get to know us and see that we’re real people who are looking out for them.”
The golf outing has grown from a simple day of giving back to clients into a highly anticipated event. The number of attendees continues to swell every year as new faces step up to tee off alongside those who have been attending since the beginning.
“It’s great to have our clients out here smiling, happy, and enjoying themselves,” Barancyk said. “That’s what today’s about: fun, not work. We’re just excited to be able to host this.”
The golf outing is one of several events hosted by Oak Partners throughout the year that let them touch base with their clients in fun ways. From parties at Journeyman Distillery to ice skating in Bulldog Park, every event helps build Oak Partners’ reputation in the community.
“We like staying connected with our clients and giving them touch points with us so they understand that we’re always accessible and available,” DeHaven said. “People know that we are fiduciaries and that we’re bound to do what’s in their best interest. We manage money sitting on the same side of the table as them. Whether they’re just getting started in the investing world or ready to retire and enter a new phase of life, we’re there for them whenever they need us.”
“These fun social events help clients become friends over time,” Barancyk added. “It’s a lot easier to work together when you’re working with friends.”
