As 2026 is underway, NITCO is ready to kick off another great year with its biggest supporters. On Thursday, January 15, NITCO invited a plethora of company partners across Northwest Indiana to Aberdeen Manor for its Business Bash celebration.
NITCO Senior Vice President Tom Carroll believes the Business Bash is a great opportunity for partners, friends, and clients to all come together and celebrate an evening of networking with one another.
“It’s not only just our current customers, but it’s future customers and people we don’t know,” Carroll said. “Those are the people that we really want to meet. For the people that we do know, this is a ‘thank you’ for being a great customer, and it’s an opportunity for them to meet other people that might be their customers. NITCO is such a great company that has been around for 90 years. This is an opportunity for people to mingle and network. It’s a free event to just come and have a good time.”
Originating in 2015, the NITCO Business Bash has seen tremendous growth over time. Both the number of attending partners and the event venue have evolved.
“The first year we had it, I think we might have had 50 or 60 people,” Carroll said. “We have 156 reservations for tonight. There’s a lot of familiar faces, but it’s definitely grown over the years.”
This event gave the NITCO team an opportunity to share their successes of 2025 with many of their local partners all in the same setting.
“We had a really good year in 2025,” Carroll said. “People really appreciate the kind of product offering that NITCO has for businesses. We do residential in Lake of the Four Seasons, Hebron, DeMotte and Rensselaer. We do business in Valparaiso, Chesterton, East Chicago, and Portage. People really appreciate the fact that if they have an issue, they know where we live. Our customer service team is infinitely friendlier if they can be your neighbor.”
Carroll notes that anyone who signs up for the NITCO priority plan as a customer can get tech support for any question or issue that needs to be diagnosed. Developing trust is a part of what has made NITCO a dependable company for residents of Northwest Indiana.
“It’s all about being reliable,” Carroll said. “The internet has to be reliable. Residential customers are very price sensitive to their internet. For businesses, we like to size the internet for the right amount of speed that they need to operate and give them the best price we can. We will respond on the same day rather than have people wait for service for three of four days if something goes wrong.”
All night long, Aberdeen Manor was filled with happy faces who were enjoying themselves. Whether partners were making new friends or reconnecting with old ones, Carroll described the atmosphere to be energetic. He cherishes this event as an opportunity to meet new people every year and to fulfill NITCO’s goal to strengthen relationships.
Looking ahead at what’s to come in 2026, Carroll is optimistic about the direction that NITCO is headed towards. The company has big plans to instill more fiber and business corridors.
“We need to build more fiber in our residential neighborhoods,” Carroll said. “We’ve got to finish Hebron and DeMotte, but that’s our goal for 2026. I want to extend some of our business corridors. I want to build out more towards Portage. We’re in the AmeriPlex with Bass Pro Shop, but that’s the only place in Portage right now.”For more information on NITCO, you can visit nitco.com.
