For many businesses, customers are the foundation of success. At NITCO’s 2026 Customer Appreciation Day, company leaders and employees took time to celebrate that relationship by welcoming customers for an afternoon of food, activities, and community engagement. Held on Thursday, June 11, the annual event took place in downtown Hebron as a free community block party.
The event provided an opportunity for customers to not just interact with NITCO team members, but also learn more about the company’s services and enjoy themselves from start to finish. The atmosphere remained upbeat throughout the day as families, long-time customers, and first-time attendees gathered to celebrate.
“An event like this brings the community together,” Hebron Fire Chief Chad Franzman said. “In a small community like ours, that’s imperative and gives people more comfort in living here.”
Rather than simply providing a service, NITCO continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting local residents and businesses through community involvement and customer engagement.
The town closed off streets to make room for the festivities, transforming downtown Hebron into one of the company’s biggest events of the year. NITCO’s Customer Appreciation Day brings in more than 600 people each year, and this edition did not disappoint.
“It helps the community have fun together,” attendee Ashley Carter said. “It makes us one town together. You get to see how much fun you can have with NITCO. Everyone comes together, be kind to each other, and have fun.”
As technology continues to play an increasingly important role in everyday life, customers depend on reliable internet and communication services. Several attendees shared positive experiences with NITCO’s service, such as strong connectivity, responsive customer support, and a local presence in the communities they serve.
“As long as I’ve been here, NITCO has been the only way for me,” Franzman said. “I’ve never had any issues. They’re also one of the very few locally owned internet providers, so it’s always nice to come out here and support them. They’ve made changes to the industry.”
This year’s celebration also included several giveaways, including a wheeled cooler and a large slip-and-slide for children. Some NITCO employees have referred to it as a homemade mini-fair.
For longtime customers, the event also highlighted how much the company has grown over the years while maintaining a focus on customer relationships. NITCO’s ongoing commitment to serving Northwest Indiana communities remains the most important point of emphasis.
“This event is a great opportunity for our employees and staff to get to just connect with our customers and people who may become our customers,” Tom Carroll, senior vice president at NITCO, said. “We service communities throughout Northwest Indiana, including in Lake County, Porter County, La Porte County, Newton County, and Jasper County, and they all have different needs. We provide them all with reliable internet, great voice lines, and a TV cable package at a really outstanding price.”
For NITCO, the event served as both an appreciation to existing customers and a reminder of the relationships that continue to drive the company’s success. This annual tradition has become a staple for the company in recent years, and the hope is that next year will be an even bigger celebration.
