Navigating Open Enrollment Through the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP)

CoAction is offering the services of the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) which offers one on one counseling to assist consumers in making the best decisions regarding Medicare. With the Open Enrollment Period beginning on October 15-December 7, it is essential that people are prepared to enroll or make necessary changes to their medical coverage. 

SHIP is a nationwide program, with 75 sites in Indiana, providing free and unbiased counseling for Medicare recipients. The program is designed to let people compare and enroll in various healthcare plans all while being educated so they can have a better understanding of how Medicare works. Selecting health insurance is quite daunting, so the program will help recipients evaluate and compare Medicare Part D, Supplement, Medicare Advantage, and Long Term Care policies.
