May is Quilt Gardens time, and also National Travel and Tourism Week

May is when things really get started for tourism activity in Elkhart County, so it’s perfect that the Elkhart County CVB is marking National Travel and Tourism Week from May 3 to May 9.

We’re gearing up for the Quilt Gardens, with most of our 17 garden sites receiving their flowers the third week of May and planting them soon thereafter. The Quilt Gardens officially open to the public on May 30. With many garden sites opting for an America 250, they’re going to be that much more beautiful (and patriotic too!).

Another big part of our tourism celebration is an open house! Come to the Elkhart County Visitor Center, 3421 Cassopolis St., on Tuesday, May 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. for the Elkhart County CVB hosting a Business After Hours event with the Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce.

Come enjoy some refreshments, chat with your favorite ECCVB staff members, and meet some other colleagues from around Elkhart and the surrounding area.
