Legacy Foundation will officially announce $5 million in new grant funding during a public Grant Launch on Thursday, April 23 at 9:00 a.m. at IBEW Local 697, inviting nonprofits, local governments, and public agencies to learn more about the funding opportunity and begin the application process. This major investment includes the launch of the $4 million Love Where You Live Grant, as well as an additional $1 million dedicated to expanding the Transform Lake County and Resilience grant programs.
The Love Where You Live grants include a new $4 million investment designed to support community informed projects that create, revitalize, and activate inclusive public spaces across Lake County, Indiana. Through this initiative, Legacy Foundation will fund projects that are implementation-ready, demonstrate clear community benefit, and transform underutilized shared spaces into vibrant community assets.
“Love Where You Live is about investing in the places that shape everyday life,” said Kelly Anoe, President and CEO of Legacy Foundation. ““Through this $4 million grant, we are focusing on public spaces that foster connection and belonging, while our additional $1 million investment ensures continued support for organizations making a difference every day.”
Legacy Foundation anticipates awarding grants of up to $1,000,000 for transformative public space projects, with awards expected to range from $100,000 to $1,000,000. Examples of eligible projects include, but are not limited to, downtown plazas, amphitheaters, park enhancements, and indoor public market spaces.
In addition to the $4 million public space investment, Legacy Foundation will add $1 million to expand Transform Lake County and Resilience grantmaking through 2027 to support the growth and stability of nonprofit organizations serving Lake County. “At Legacy, we are committed to filling essential funding gaps to help people living in Lake County thrive,” said Anoe.
