La Porte Community School Corporation Board of School Trustees elects 2026 officers

The La Porte Community School Corporation Board of School Trustees held its annual reorganization meeting this week, electing officers to serve as board leaders throughout 2026.

The newly elected officers are:

  • Ryan Seaburg, President
  • Tucker King, Vice President
  • Monica Beaty, Secretary

The reorganization meeting marks the beginning of another year of dedicated service by the board members, whose commitment to La Porte Community Schools continues to guide the district’s strategic direction and student-focused initiatives.

Recognizing School Board Appreciation Month

January is School Board Appreciation Month, a time to recognize the significant contributions of school board members across Indiana and the nation. During the reorganization meeting, Superintendent Dr. Sandra Wood expressed her gratitude to the La Porte board members for their tireless dedication to the school corporation.

“Your work often happens quietly and behind the scenes, but your leadership’s impact is felt every day in our schools,” Dr. Wood said. “We appreciate your willingness to ask thoughtful questions, engage in honest conversations, and make decisions with students at the center. We are truly grateful for your partnership and support, and for the steady leadership you provide to our staff, students, and community.”

School board members serve as volunteer advocates for public education, balancing the needs of students, staff, families, and the broader community while making critical decisions about policies, budgets, and district priorities. Their commitment requires countless hours of preparation, meetings, and community engagement, all in service of ensuring every student in La Porte Community Schools has the opportunity to succeed.
