La Lumiere Set to Play in Dick’s National Tournament in New York City

La Lumiere School’s nationally ranked boys Varsity White basketball team (25-3) is headed to New York City at the end of this month to compete in the Dick’s Sporting Goods High School National Tournament. The Lakers (No. 5 seed) are one of eight boys teams selected to play in the tournament, and will take on No. 4 seed St. Benedict’s Prep (New Jersey) on Thursday, March 31 at 11 a.m. CT.
This three-day, single-elimination tournament begins with quarterfinals on Thursday, March 31 (ESPNU), and continues with semifinals on Friday, April 1 (ESPN2) at Christ the King High School, Middle Village, New York. Finals will be played on Saturday, April 2 at Madison Square Garden (ESPN).
Director of Athletics, Sean Murphy, says, “We’re very proud of our team for representing the La Lumiere community with distinction all season and earning a spot in the tournament again this year. The opportunity to compete against some of the top high school talent in the country is not taken lightly, and we’re thrilled for the chance to represent La Lumiere School again on a national stage.”
