La Lumiere School celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2024 with a memorable commencement ceremony held on May 24th in Marsch Gymnasium. The event marked a significant milestone for the graduates, their families, and the school community, highlighting years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance.
Prior to forty-seven La Lumiere graduates walking across the stage to receive their diplomas, Joseph C. Linnen ‘84, a lifelong learner and La Lumiere alumni delivered an uplifting commencement address to the class of 2024. Linnen remarked, “The gratitude for relationships with my family and friends provided me with the gift of perspective–no C or D or failure will doom you. No clique controls your social destiny. No job solves all your problems. Only worry about the things you can control, and leave the rest to God.”
The ceremony also featured an inspiring address by the Head Prefect, Semeon Chachanko. Speaking on behalf of his classmates, Semeon reflected on their shared experiences and the strong bonds formed over the years. He encouraged his fellow graduates to thrive in their future endeavors and to support one another as they navigate the next chapter of their lives.
In addition to the traditional diploma presentations, several graduates were honored with special awards for academic excellence, leadership, and community service.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of diplomas, as proud family members and friends cheered on the graduates. The joyous occasion was a testament to the hard work and dedication of the students, as well as the unwavering support of the faculty and staff. La Lumiere wishes the Class of 2024 all the best in their future endeavors. We are confident that they will continue to achieve great things and uphold the values of our school.
