IU South Bend Enrollment Growth Continues for Third Straight Year

Indiana University South Bend’s enrollment continues to grow. The total number of students enrolled for the fall 2025 semester at IU South Bend is 4,716, an increase of nearly 2% over last year.

These figures demonstrate a trend of ongoing growth for IU South Bend. There was a 4% increase in enrollment in 2024, after a significant spike in 2023, which marked the first year-over-year increase in 14 years.

By the numbers

The total number of full-time undergraduate students grew by more than 8% from the fall of 2024.
First-generation students comprise more than 32% of the student population and grew by just over 3% from the previous year.

Online program enrollment is up nearly 17% for undergraduate students and approximately 19% for graduate students.
The Honors Program, designated for students with a focus on academic excellence and community service, has a total of 462 students enrolled.

There are 130 student veterans enrolled this fall. IU South Bend has been awarded the Military Friendly® designation each year since 2021.

More than 88% of students are from Indiana, with nearly 81% from the North Central Indiana region. Overall, IU South Bend students hail from 38 states and 67 countries.
