Goshen High School Seniors Recognized in National Scholarship Programs

Goshen Community Schools is proud to recognize three Goshen High School seniors for their  outstanding academic achievements and national recognition through prestigious scholarship programs. 

Nancy Sanchez-Perez and David Velazquez-Valdez have been named QuestBridge Finalists, and  Christopher Sixtos-Armas has been selected as a Semifinalist in the 2025–2026 Coca-Cola Scholars  Program. 

The QuestBridge National College Match is a highly competitive program that connects high-achieving  students from low-income backgrounds with full four-year scholarships to some of the nation’s best colleges.  Finalists represent some of the most academically accomplished and service-minded students in the country  and now move forward in the process for consideration to be “matched” with one of QuestBridge’s college  partners. Students who are selected as Match Scholarship Recipients receive full four-year scholarships that  cover tuition, housing, meals, books, supplies, and travel expenses. 

As finalists, Nancy and David are now eligible to be “matched” with one of QuestBridge’s 50+ prestigious  college partners. Students who receive a Match Scholarship are admitted early to a partner college with a  guaranteed full four-year scholarship funded by the college’s own resources, state and federal aid, and other  scholarships. 

Meanwhile, Christopher Sixtos-Armas joins an elite group of students named Semifinalists in the 2025–2026  Coca-Cola Scholars Program. Out of more than 107,000 applicants nationwide, only 1,237 students earned  this distinction for their exceptional leadership, academic excellence, and commitment to community service. 

Semifinalists now advance to the next stage of consideration, which includes submitting essays,  recommendations, and detailed information about their academic and extracurricular achievements. Only 150  students will ultimately be named Coca-Cola Scholars, each receiving a $20,000 college scholarship. 

“We are incredibly proud of Nancy, David, and Christopher for their hard work, perseverance, and dedication  to learning,” said GHS Principal Cathy DeMeyer. “These recognitions reflect not only their talent and effort but  also the support of our teachers, families, and community who have helped them reach this level of success.”
