Goshen High School Senior Braxton Cline Named IHSBCA District C Player of the Year

Goshen High School senior Braxton Cline has been named the 2026 Indiana High School  Baseball Coaches Association (IHSBCA) District C Player of the Year following a vote by area baseball  coaches during the annual district nomination meeting held Sunday in Mishawaka.

The recognition comes as part of the IHSBCA’s annual selection process for the North/South All-Star Series,  which will take place June 26-28 at Loeb Stadium in Lafayette. Coaches from across Indiana gathered to  nominate seniors for potential inclusion in the prestigious all-star event while also recognizing outstanding  players, coaches, media members, and umpires from each district.

Cline has led the RedHawk offense throughout the 2026 season and has been one of the top hitters in  northern Indiana. Through 22 games, he is batting .520 with 39 hits, four doubles, three triples, and four home  runs. A four-year starter for Goshen, Cline has started every varsity game of his high school career and  currently anchors the infield as the team’s starting shortstop.

District coaches recognized not only Cline’s impressive statistical season, but also his consistency,  leadership, and impact on one of the area’s top teams. As District C Player of the Year, Cline will now await  final selection for the 2026 North/South All-Star Series roster later this month.

In addition to Cline’s recognition, fellow Goshen senior Ryen Diaz was selected as a District C nominee for the  North/South All-Star Series. Diaz has been a key contributor on the mound for the RedHawks this season,  compiling a 6-1 record with a 1.95 ERA through May 18 while pitching in several high-pressure games.

Goshen Community Schools congratulates Braxton Cline and Ryen Diaz on these outstanding  accomplishments and their continued representation of RedHawk baseball at the state level.
