Goshen High School Names Ellen Longcor as Assistant Principal

Goshen Community Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Ellen Longcor as  Assistant Principal of Goshen High School. 

Longcor brings more than 17 years of educational experience to the role, including the past 16 years serving  students and families at Model Elementary School. During her time at Model, she has served as a classroom  teacher, Master Teacher, and most recently Dean of Students, where she has helped foster a positive school  culture, support student success, and provide leadership for staff and school initiatives. 

Throughout her career, Longcor has demonstrated a commitment to student growth, teacher development,  and creating a safe and welcoming learning environment. As Dean of Students, she has led PBIS initiatives,  coordinated schoolwide testing, facilitated MTSS meetings, supported student discipline efforts, and coached  teachers through classroom observations. Previously, as a Master Teacher, she provided professional  development, mentored new educators, and collaborated with school leaders to improve student outcomes. 

Longcor earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Taylor University and her master’s  degree in Curriculum and Educational Technology from Ball State University. She recently completed her  Building Level Administrator Certification through the American College of Education. 

“Ellen has spent her career building strong relationships with students, staff, and families while consistently  demonstrating a commitment to student success,” said Superintendent Jim DuBois. “Her experience as a  teacher and instructional leader, combined with her deep understanding of our district and community, make  her an excellent fit for this leadership role. We are excited to see the positive impact she will continue to have  on our schools.” 

Longcor said she is excited for the opportunity to continue serving Goshen Community Schools in a  leadership capacity and looks forward to supporting students, staff, and families as they work together to  create positive learning experiences.
